Interreg NWE is an EU funded territorial cooperation programme aiming at making the North-West Europe area a key economic player with high levels of innovation, sustainability and cohesion.

KIC InnoEnergy promotes innovation, entrepreneurship and education in sustainable energy. It does this by providing business support through a network of 160 partners, and investment funding.

The region of the Basque Country has set itself ocean energy development goals as part of its Energy Strategy for 2030. To reach its goals, a grant programme for the period 2017 to 2019 has been set up by the Basque Energy Agency (Ente Vasco de la Energia) to support the testing and demonstration of ocean energy devices. The programme has a total budget of €2.5m.
