Join OEE2021 safely – COVID19 measures

Last updated at 15:00, 26/11/21

This year’s Ocean Energy Europe Conference & Exhibition will require some extra health and safety checks related to COVID-19.

CovidSafe ticket checks will be conducted upon arrival, and will be a requirement to enter both the event venue and the conference dinner venue. Please make sure you come prepared!

Wearing a mask is now mandatory in the venue, and social distancing and washing/sanitising hands regularly remains strongly recommended. This is all an important part of making the event as safe as possible and ensuring all attendees feel comfortable.

Below is a summary of the current measures in place for travel, in Brussels and at the venue. We do our best to keep this up to date, but cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies. We have provided links to relevant government websites to enable you to check the latest official information.

CovidSafe Ticket

To enter the event and dinner venues, you will need to present a valid photo ID or passport and one of the following:

  • a valid vaccination certificate (fully vaccinated + 2 weeks)
  • a negative PCR test certificate (no older than 2 days),
  • a certificate of recovery (+ 10 days and -180 days)

Validity of vaccination certificates

If your vaccination certificate is from:

  • an EU country, this is recognised in Belgium under the EU COVID Certificate scheme.
  • a country with mutual recognition arrangements in place, you can use your certificate (with QR code) in Belgium. Check the current list here (‘Please Note’ section).
  • any other country, you must request a Belgian CST that is valid for one month via the CovidSafe app.

Please note: OEE does not have any control or discretion over the CovidSafe ticket requirements – if you do not provide the required documentation, we must deny you access to the event.

Travelling to Belgium - EU countries or white list countries

Current travel rules for Belgium can be found here: www.info-coronavirus.be/en/travels (skip to the ‘I do not live in Belgium’ section).

All incoming travellers must complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF).

Below is a brief summary of the current Belgian policy. Please consult the official website for full details. You must check your own government rules regarding travel to/from your own country.

Coming from an EU or a white list country

  • Fully vaccinated: you do not need to test or quarantine in Belgium.
  • Not vaccinated: a negative pre-travel test is required from ‘red’ EU/white list countries.

All travellers from an EU “red zone”, who do not have a vaccination or recovery certificate, must present a pre-departure negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Brussels Region applies stricter rules: all travellers coming from a red area and not holding a EUDCC must, in addition to the tests obligations, respect a mandatory quarantine of 10 days. The quarantine can be shorted if the result of the test taken on day 7 after arrival is negative.

Travelling to Belgium - non-EU countries

Coming from a non-EU country that is NOT on the white list

You must be fully vaccinated to travel to Belgium. (The UK and US are currently in this category, for e.g.).

Get tested (PCR or RAT) on day 1 or 2 after you arrive in Belgium. You have to stay in quarantine until the negative result of your test on day 1 or 2.

If you can present a negative PCR test of max. 72 hours or a negative RAT test of the day before or of your arrival you’re not required to be tested on day 1 or day 2 or to quarantine .RAT tests (paying, available at certain pharmacies).
Pharmacies near to The Egg include (usually not open on Sundays): Pharmacie Maklach, Pharmacie Delem, Barapharma, Pharmacie de la Gare du Midi.

Where to get an antigen test on Sunday: Apotheek De Merode Pharmacy and CovidTest Center
